I ate there with a friend for Restaurant Week, and the $55.00 meal that I chose was amazing! I had Caesar salad that was delicious, followed by Scallops that were very large and cooked to perfection: ) I couldn't even finish them. The asparagus that were the side dish were so yummy, and there were so many of them. This was such a value,!and there was plenty, Our waitress was such a delight, and despite being busy the food was fabulous and there was plenty of it, I look forward to eating there again very soon.
My boyfriend and I can here to celebrate 4 years together and it did not disappoint! First, let me say the seafood was so fresh and flavorful, I never thought you could get this quality of fish in such a landlocked state! Absolutely decadent! The Tuna Tartare was so delicious and fun to put together, the salmon and yellowtail rolls melted in our mouths and the oysters were unlike any I'd had before! That being said, somehow, even better than the food was the service we received from the staff. Taylor was our server and she was FANTASTIC! She was so welcoming, patient and helpful, her recommendations were spot on and once she took our order it felt like seconds before we had someone delivering goody after goody to us. We both had a fantastic experience and with such a diverse happy hour we will definitely be back!
I've been a regular at Buck & Rider for years, so this review is long overdue! First and foremost, Buck & Rider has the freshest seafood in Arizona because they fly it in daily; it is one of the few places I will order oysters because I have never smelled anything "fishy" there. I've tried most of their seafood, and it's all fresh and delicious - shrimp ceviche, ahi tuna crispy rice, stone crab, hamachi crudo, crab cakes, sushi rolls, Loup De Mer, smoked trout dip, calamari, shrimp, and oysters. It's a no-brainer when you add that they have one of the best happy hours daily from 3-7 and all day Sunday. In addition, their patio and their bars (indoor and outdoor) have great atmospheres, and their patio allows dogs. As if that wasn't enough, their banana cream pie is one of the best desserts in town...and I'm not even a pie person! They also have fun events, such as their National Oyster Day and a champagne toast on NYE. The hosts/hostesses are friendly and attentive when you walk in, and they try to accommodate requests for the patio and the bar area if they are able. Last but not least, they always offer e-gift card deals around Thanksgiving. My email recently deleted some emails and my e-gift cards were nowhere to be found, but Cherisse quickly responded to my email and was so helpful in getting them restored. Many thanks to everyone at Buck and Rider - your amazing food, patio, happy hour, and customer service will keep me a regular for years to come! *Note for EV drivers: Valet also has 2 chargers
A fan for sure when it comes to Happy Hour so we decided to come as a family and celebrate a birthday dinner. Longer than expected wait for Dinner with our Reservations (and it was actually raining that night so it made it cramped on the wait inside). The manager did recognize the wait and kept us in the loop so it was appreciated. For our party size of 5, we were seated in a high-traffic area so between the servers and guests walking through, we were constantly hit on the back of the chair throughout the entire dinner. When it came to the food... just about everything we had was good!!. The Pan Crisp Yellowtail Snapper was really good, we just needed a bigger portion (aka order another one & another one). The NE Clam Chowder was on par with Chowder back East and the A.O.B Cheeseburger was quoted as "Being a much better than other burgers" after each bite by my son. We also did a "Creative Salad" as someone was being overly picky & had to have Dungeness Crab with it... The BBQ Pork Ribs were also really good, but I needed a different compliment to go with them. Other top items we had were the Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls (not cheap... but so good), the fan-favorite Voodoo Fried Rice, again multiple orders, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, the Tuna Crispy Rice, and of course, a bottle of Famille Moutard Champagne to celebrate get the vibe kicking when we requested some Misty Point & Malpeque Oysters As for cocktails, it was all about the Bobby Love, as that's my jam for any visit. The seating and wait were the 2 things that didn't go well, but the food and service was exceptional so we will keep coming!!
Was very pleasant sitting outside at the patio bar. The misters made it very comfortable. The food was delicious and the service from the bartender was great.
I visited Buck & Rider Friday evening for dinner. The service was fantastic and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all of our questions and provided great recommendations. We ordered the calamari (not pictured because we ate it too fast) to start. I loved the Thai dipping sauce that comes with it - it's delicious! We also ordered some oysters, Caesar salad, the blackfish (seared), the broccolini, and the Louisiana Red Snapper (I think it was the Snapper). All of the food was super tasty and the portion sizes were good. This restaurant is on the expensive side, but I feel that the food quality and service made it well-worth it. All of the seafood here is flown in daily and you can tell that everything is fresh. I would highly recommend getting a reservation as the Phoenix location was very busy, even before 5pm! The parking is all complimentary valet so no issues with that. I will definitely be visiting Buck & Rider again in the future!
I visited during restaurant week. I arrived at 6 p.m. on a Saturday... boy, was there a wait. 1 1/2 hours to be exact. The place was packed. According to other patrons, this is common. So, reservations are advised. The customer service, food, and atmosphere were so worth the wait. Each dish was custom ordered. I tried the Cesar salad with blackened shrimp and the voodoo fried rice. So delicious! Complimentary valet parking. Accessible entrance.
Buck & Rider Restaurant Week was awesome! Joshua was an attentive server! Course 1: Pacific Oysters...not a fan of the onion vinaigrette. I ordered the atomic horseradish , cocktail sauce and Tabasco. Course 2: You can't beat a beautiful 16 Oz trimmed ribeye. Their medium rare is more like a medium. The baked potato was a great recommendation. They scallops was to die for. Course 3: Gelato with Cookie. Smooth and delish! To Go: 1/3 of a Lemon Meringue Pie! $55 ++ Bravo!!!!!
I'm always in the lookout for good seafood, and Buck& Rider fit the bill. All parking here is valet. There simply isn't enough space to have self-parking. Somehow the restaurant seems "busy" to me, lots of people walking around, v like nobody could sit still lol. It's not a bad thing, it's just an observation, and was probably because of where we were seated--smack in the middle of the way in and out, to the bathrooms, to the bar, and to the patio. The food was, as expected, very good. Surprisingly, my favorite thing was the Voodoo Fried Rice. I would have been happy to have that as my entire dinner! The cocktails were good, too! Be sure to make a reservation!
